First Thursday, November 5th!

Please join us for the opening reception for Kendra Larson's Hide Away.

First Thursday, November 5th. 7pm - late.
DJ Zac Eno 9:3o onward

Some of you may already be familiar with Kendra's work. She has lived in Portland for a long while and moved to Minnesota for a few years to pursue her MFA. She's just returned to settle back into our fair city, and we couldn't be more proud to show some of the beautiful work she made during her time away.

There are so many rounds to make for the excellent shows opening in our neighborhood this month (...ahem...And Now We Do What We Do at Igloo! Queer Gaze at Fontanelle!...cough, cough). We hope you can come and celebrate with us as you hop around.

This Sunday, November 1st!

Hey there!

Folks from some of our favorite bands in Portland are branching out and sharing their new work this Sunday evening.

Stirling Myles of Strangers Die Everyday, Sam Cooper from Horse Feathers, and Adrienne Hatkin of Autopilot Is For Lovers.
What a nice way to start November.

Can't ask for a better night. Hope to see you!
Hey all!

Tomorrow, Wed. October 28th we'll be screening not one, but TWO of our favorite scary movies. So come on down if you're itching to get into the spirit of the season. Hallow's eve is almost upon us!

Double feature!

First, we'll be showing Ingmar Bergman's only horror film, Hour of the Wolf. 1968. A absolute classic and must-see if you've never had the chance. After that we'll be moving on to cult classic, Sleepaway Camp. YEAH!!!! You know it. You love it. We love it, too.

Tomorrow we'll be having happy hour all night long (and every Wednesday from now on this winter!) including $3 wells, $3 drafts, and $3 house wine.

First movie starts 9pm, and of course, this is all totally free. Hope to see you for the fun!
Mwaahaha...hahaha....haha....ha....hmm.

xo,
V

Oh man. Rare live sets from some of Portland's best projects.
Azmo from Hott Pink and Kim from Fleshtone will have their Valentine's debut doing PRIZM along with Tom Thorson's ever-gorgeous, ever-mysterious, Interiors. As if that isn't enough, Cursillistas, two lovely trippers from the deep woods of Maine who rarely make it out here will also hypnotize.

You can't beat it.

Our faves.

Oh my goodness.

This is going to be super special. Here's a little more info:

Lasercave brings you a fresh new edition of the DEEP LEAP MICROCINEMA. The evening's theme is SIGN LANGUAGES, so the selected works investigate and articulate some of the myriad forms language can take: as data, as physical form, as cultural signifier, as code, as sound, etc.

Expect dazzling video art and experimental film from around the world and specially commissioned performance from our own fertile backyard. Without going into too too much detail:

John Niekrasz’s hot shit syllabic drumming, Oliver Laric’s Flash Grandmaster media new trickery, Diane Borsato treating a song like it's a precious breath, Catarina Simoes getting to the point, Ben Russell letting us stare at a sign and letting that sign stare back, Les Leveque re/de-coding Bill Gates, Annie Hall—one of the best comedies ever made—remade and remade and remade and more, more, more (like Stephanie Barber and Frank Zadlo, like James Whipple and Benjamin Schultz-Figueroa, like, more).

Friday, October 9th

Tuesday, October 6th = Super special.

City Center is making some of the most interesting, beautiful music of our time. Awesome buried pop music under layers of sea change. So lucky to have these guys out all the way from Detroit...or is it New York...or...? I don't know, man, but don't miss this show! This stuff truly shimmers.
